Canadian Hairless

Where can I buy a hairless cat at?

I forgot the name of those cats, but where can I buy a hairless cat at? I live in Oahu, Hawaii.

  1. This exotic cat is known as the Sphynx, or the Canadian Hairless. You will have to find a breeder willing to sell you one (they want to make sure you are a good home), and be prepared to be on a wait list and pay $3000 or more. Here is a website with a list of breeders. http://www.absolutelycats.com/24SphynxGallery.html
  2. These things are really expensive. A cheaper idea is just to shave your current cat. Just kidding--don't shave your cat.
  3. why would you want 1 ewwwww
  4. They are called a sphynx. They cost more then $2000. They can't outside or they will get burnt, so they will have to be a fully indoor cat. They need to be bathed at least weekly. They are a big expense. My boyfriend and I have wanted one for so long but I already have cats so it is best if we don't. Pet shops might one day get them in. Just don't get one imported, because that is cruel.
  5. I have seen ads on www.kijiji.com selling sphynx cats or kittens. You're sort of limited since you live in Hawaii. I don't know that they have any on there right now, but you could keep an eye out. I've seen them cheaper than $2000 though. Of course, I really don't know anything about breeders, my cats aren't purebred.
  6. They are called Sphynx cats. Not sure if Hawaii has a Sphynx breeder, but here's a list of breeders to contact. You do understand that if you have to ship from the mainland, the cat will have to be quarentined. So you might have to get an older cat rather then a young kitten (4 months). Hopefully a breeder in California might be willing to ship one to you. That would be the cheapest state to look as far as the shipping. Good luck. http://www.breedlist.com/sphynx-breeders.html BTW I don't know where you guys got your prices from but $2K, $3K would be for show quality kittens. Pets would run a lot cheaper then that.
