  1. As far as allergies go, yes, but be sure to do your homework as the hairless breeds are much higher maintenance than coated cats. http://cats.lovetoknow.com/Hairless_Cats
  2. Cats hair is not what humans are allergic to - its actually a protein that is called Fel d 1 that is from the glands in the cats skin and also though their saliva the protein is spreded though dander - peices of shed skin, and that fall off the cat when they bath them selves and is highly stickable to anything. so the protein can be anywhere in your house if you have/or have had a cat - so cleaning is needed. Allergys to a cat - is easily cured/controlled by taking a alergy med by a vet - and by brushing your cat and vacumming every week 1-2 times.
  3. i think if you're alergic to cats, then you are indeed alergic to it. no matter what breed you will get.
  4. It depends upon what you are really allergic to. Some people are allergic the dust mites in their fur and so are allergic to animals in general. Other people are allergic to only cats because they are allergic to proteins in their saliva and dander. If that's your case, hairless won't help because the cat will still clean itself spreading its saliva everywhere causing your allergy. If it's the dust mites, do a little research into different breeds. A hairless would be an option, but the Russian Blue is another that is supposed to be good for people with allergies. Find out what your allergy really is before you get a cat you may have to just give up.
  5. yes.but it need more attention.
  6. you may not believe it, but hypoallergenic cats do exist... they have been especially bred, but they are quite expensive... http://www.siberian-cat-breeder.com/hypo_allergenic_cat.html
