How do you get rid of a cat that started to come around a house?

on my Christian family home? They already has a stray cat they adopted (does not have a name), and now they have another cat started to come around. They were talking about shooing him/her off with a BB gun. I jokingly said they should and they told me they have talked about it! I doubt they will hurt this poor cat, but I see their point, they do not want another cat, and this cat is eating away their cat food.

  1. Throw orange peels around your garden and flower beds, outside your front door etc, drives cats nuts. In a bad way
  2. HOT WATERRRR AHAHA
  3. Call the DNR.
  4. yes a shot's not the right solution, better killing him by poisoning the food
  5. They should catch the cat and take it to a local animal shelter where someone can give it a home. Don't shoot it off with a BB gun.
  6. i would get the cat and take him to the vets office and leave him there or take him to a shelter and leave him there. its not good to shoot this animal they are humane type things and creatures of God and it makes them hurt and stuff why just give them a chance if you dont' need another one.
  7. dont give it food, milk, water..pretty much anythingg dont even pay attention to it. or you could take it to the aspca
  8. They should bring their cat inside to eat. The new cat might even stop coming around once there's no food. But even if it still comes around, it shouldn't be a problem if the other cat eats inside.
  9. If they are feeding the other cat outside, tell them to stop. That cat doesn't come around because he like the people, he comes around because of the food they give it. Im sure its much easier then catching something right? So why wouldn't that cat go to the house. No food if there is no food, then there no reason for the cat to be there. It may take a couple days before the cat gets the point but he will. And if they need to feed the cat they adopted outside then they will have to make sure the other cat isn't around, and only put a little bit of food into the dish so that the cat they adopted eats it and there will be nothing left when the other cat comes around. Don't shoot it, that's honestly horrible. If you had no home 'and wanted some food would you want someone to shoot you? Its stupid and doesn't know any better.
  10. Stop feeding the cat and setting food outside for the resident cat. Christian ?!?! I am an avowed Atheist and I have never sought to harm another living being in my life.
  11. Make sure they don't shoot or harm the poor little soul in any way. You should try to catch it and send it to the aspca, or call them and ask them to catch it and find a home that will love it and not act stupid by shooting it.
