When does cat calming collar start taking effect, and does it actually work?

I bought a calming collar for my 6 mo cat. I was wondering when does it kick in? and if it actually calms the cat down enough? (less meowing, less anxiety. etc)

1. The hormone bases collars can take between 3-7 days for full effect and will not change the behavior in all pets. Most vets will recommend a combination effort of one of the plug in dispersers, collar or medication. I worked at a vet clinic where we kept a plug in hooked up at all times in the cat boarding room and it would usually help settle most cat's within a couple days, but some never did. Kittens are a story all their own though and many of the behavior issues you are experiencing many be age related, not stress or anxiety. Best of luck to you!
