Do you own a Sphynx? (Hairless cat)?
I'm thinking of getting one. I found a great dealer, and a great price. Now the only debate is wanting to know more. If you own one, can you tell me about your experiences you've had with them? They seem easy to take care of, and very loving!

- well i would suggest looking up all the imformation on the cat before you get it and be willing to keep it for at least 20 years
- They are easy to take care of and no pet hair to vacuum! Some can tend to have skin problems and/or allergy problems. The ones I've dealt with have to be washed with special shampoo, are on special meds and need to have special diets for allergic conditions.
- Hi there again...the sphynx is a very affectionate cat and they are very dog like. I personally do not have one but have a friend who has one named Romeo and he's quite the lover (lives up to his name). They are a higher maintenance cat rather than a typical furred cat. They require weekly bathing because they develop more body oils that fur normally would dissipate with fur coat cats. Their body, ears and between their toes will accumulate excess body secretion oils which load up. They also require frequent nail trimming. They need to stay out the sun since they will easily get sunburned and in the cooler climates need to wear clothing to prevent from becoming hyporthermic. - They're definitely NOT easy to care for. You have to bathe them weekly, and they can't be outside for very long, or they'll get sunburned. You also have to be very diligent about cleaning out their ears, since they don't have hair trapping dirt and such. If you're comfortable working cleanings into your schedule, and having to clean your cat more than you would with a regular schedule, by all means, get one. They're definitely not easy cats, but they're not impossible either!
- I do not own a sphynx, but one of my teachers was a sphynx breeder, and wouldn't own any other cat. I know they do take a little more care than a regular cats, with the oils on their skin, you might want to ask the breeder what kind of care they need. And i also know they get cold easily. PJ used to bring her cats in to show us, but they had to have lots of blankets in their carriers, and they had to wear sweaters when they traveled. But they were very sweet and social. And their skin felt cool to touch. Talk to a vet and your breeder, and also do some research of your own to make sure you know everything you need to know about them. And good luck, i think you will love your new sphynx.
- nope mom hate them:( but i got a tuxedo cat and a weird other cat
